Hubba Hubba! These swimsuit moments made film history for a reason!

RAQUEL WELCH – ONE THOUSAND YEARS B.C., 1966

Raquel Welch became a star in the mid-1960s after her breakthrough role in “Fantastic Voyage”. She also signed a lucrative contract with 20th Century Fox. It was her iconic performance in “One Million Years B.C.” from 1966 that made her a star.

Her first appearance in a bikini was in this film, which immediately captured the imagination of the public. Raquel’s tan fur-kini swimsuit became a popular culture phenomenon despite the fact that she had limited dialogue in her film. Raquel’s swimsuit was not the most practical for any period, but it cemented her status as a timeless style icon. Her posters have graced many walls throughout the years.

PAM GRIER – COFFY, 1972

Quentin Tarantino praised actress Pam Grier, a celebrated filmmaker. He credited her versatility with her roles in films about women-in prison, action and blaxploitation. In the 1970s, Grier began to gain fame with films like “Women in Cages,” Just Wright,” and Friday Foster.

Her iconic roles in “Foxy” and “Coffy”, the latter of which was released in 1973, cemented her status. In “Coffy”, she played the vengeful Nurse Flower Child “Coffy”. This striking photo shows the actress from “Black Mama, White Mama,” dressed in elegant white swimwear. She is basking in the serenity and tranquility of a resort. Perhaps she is contemplating her next powerful role.
