Coco Palms Resort
This luxurious resort was opened in Hawaii in 1953. Hollywood was at the Coco Palms Resort. Miss Sadie Thompson was filmed with Rita Hayworth. The resort was popular until 1992, when a hurricane devastated it. Plans to revive the resort in 2016 fell through.
Istana Woodneuk
Istana Woodneuk, an abandoned palace in Singapore near the Botanic Gardens. Built in 1932, it was the home of Sultan Ibrahim and his Scottish spouse Sultanah Helen. The government purchased the palace and Tyersall Park with plans to restore them, but that never happened. A huge fire in 2006 further damaged the palace, which was then abandoned.
