The thumb is loud
Her heart beat in her chest as she gently climbed the steps. As soon as she stepped on the ground she pushed the hatch closed again, but she was a bit too fast this time. Lily was frozen when she heard the thumb. She listened closely when the TV abruptly stopped.
Close call
Lily’s heart dropped as she listened. Did you hear it? Margaret asked her husband. “Huh? Thom answered, “No, I didn’t here anything.” The television was then switched on. Lily sneaked up the stairs to the front door and thought to herself “That was close.”
